Our block of the month chairperson, Paula Hood, has designed Autumn Star to be our 2011 series. At the end of the year, you will not only have nine beautiful blocks, but also a way to put it all together to make a lovely quilt top! From January through August, you will make all the 12 1/2 inch blocks (unfinished size), then September through November you will make the center block and all the connecting blocks. In December, you will assemble the quilt!

Once again, our blocks will have a charity component. For each block you make and donate, you will fill out a ballot with your name/phone number. During the December guild meeting, a name will be drawn and the lucky recipient will receive a $100 cash prize. IF YOU PREFER TO MAKE SIMPLER BLOCKS FOR CHARITY, THE PATTERNS FOR THE 2010 BLOCKS REMAIN ON THE GUILD WEBSITE.

This year's color group for charity blocks will be WARM COLORS ... MUTED REDS, ORANGE, GREENS, GOLDS AND BROWNS, and for the lights, WHITE OR LIGHT CREAM. For yourself, use your favorite colors. This quilt also lends itself well to a scrappy look.
